A spot to rest and refresh your mind.
Toufliht, a Berber village located in the Atlas Mountains, far from the city, the noises, the stress and preoccupations.
This area is 62 km south of the famous city Marrakech, you can get there by car, bus or a Taxi from Marrakech of course, for accommodation there is only one guesthouse called ‘Auberge Toufliht’, they have all that you need, a restaurant, bar, and several options when it comes to rooms, it depends on your budget, I had a room with queen bed size, private bathroom and hot water shower with 20$/night (breakfast included).
I was working on night shift, and I felt that I was in desperate need of relaxation and getting rid of my work environment a bit, so I planned to head to Toufliht and enjoy my days off there based on the recommendation of a colleague, and so I did, when I arrived, it was raining and foggy, what a breathtaking landscape I still remember, feeling lost in the fog between the green mountains.
During my stay, I went hiking in the mountains, filled my lungs with fresh pure air, and listened attentively with not only my ears but with my whole body to the birds tweeting and chirping, and the wind playing with the tree’s leaves, making that beautiful sound, contributing the to symphony the birds were playing, I felt so connected to nature, all its components, moreover, there is a nature reserve in the area where you can find different species of animals like foxes and wild boars, but I did not go that far.
Overall, I had very remarkable days off, hiking alone, and enjoying the fresh air, calmness, and spirituality of the area, I highly recommend discovering this area whenever you are in Morocco, it is worth visiting.
This was my pleasant experience in Toufliht, if by chance you already visited it or Morocco in general, let me know in the comment section where have you been and what city/area you liked the most.
Happy travels
