From Casablanca to Tacheddirt
Again, working the night shift, I checked my planning and I have two days off, I opened my computer and looked up on Google Maps for a nice place to get away from the city’s bustling, this time I will head to Tacheddirt.
From Casablanca, I took the train towards Marrakech, then a Taxi to Asni, when I arrived in Asni, I took a tour in the souk (local market), then I took the bus to Tamguist, the village where I will be staying for the upcoming two days, and it is 2.6 km from Tacheddirt.
after an hour’s drive in the high Atlas Mountains, I arrived at Tamguist, the scenery was captivating, I booked already a room in a guesthouse, I rested for a couple of hours, and then I had dinner, a delicious chicken tagine, and some fruits, I met two nice guys, Sam and Shad, we had a nice conversation, we watched a movie together (Jurassic Park), and we enjoyed viewing the shining stars from the rooftop although it was a very cold night.
tomorrow morning, we had breakfast together, it was a good breakfast, and then the guys were supposed to go for a hike which they booked online with a guide, for me I went on a nice hike (4 hours), with Mohamed, a nice local man, He was informative and I enjoyed conversing with him while hiking up the mountain, in our way back we visited the village of Tacheddirt and Ouenskra, and without him, I would not have took some good photos.
After the hike, we went back to the guesthouse, I took a nice warm shower, and I ordered couscous for lunch, since it was Friday, a typical day for Couscous in Morocco, the manager of the guesthouse Hassan offered me Couscous made in his house for free, the couscous was delicious and Hassan was generous.
At night, I enjoyed the calmness of the area and its serenity, and read my book.
At dawn, I took the bus from Tamguist just from the front yard of the guest house towards Asni, it was Saturday, the major Souk day in Asni, I had a nice breakfast (Bissara), and Headed to Marrakech in a taxi, then I took the CTM bus to Casablanca.
